There was another healthy contingent of CRC members making the short journey up to Mid Argyll for the Crinan Puffer race. There were 142 runners competing in this flat, 8.1 mile route beside the Crinan canal. Conditions were ideal with a bit of sunshine and slight tail wind assisting runners from Crinan to Ardishaig.

Once again there were some great times and a few podium finishes for the club members.

Well done to Daniel Shieldrick who finished first in 48:45, holding off second place Colin Reilly in 48:55.  It was a great battle throughout the race between the two runners and Daniel produced a strong finish to pick up first place.

Other podium finishers were:
  • Darren Renton finishing as first male Veteran (9th overall) in 53:56.
  • Dougie Ferguson was 2nd Male Veteran (12th overall) in 54:34).
  • Jennifer Martin was third female finisher (13th overall) in 55:04.
  • Jocelyn Richard was first female Super Veteran  (42nd overall) in 01:03:18.
  • Susan Turner was second female (51st overall) super veteran in 01:05:16.
  • Lorraine McDonald was third female veteran (66th) in 01:09:15.
  • Margaret Sinclair finished first female Vintage (81st overall) in 01:13:08.
Well done to all finishers and also all CRC members who competed.  There were a number of great times and PB's on the course this year, which highlights the improvements in a number of a runners.
