The revamped Kintyre Way race took place on Saturday 6th May with a new cycle event added to the roster.  The 36 mile ultra and Relay events were still on offer, however the cycle route took in 77 miles of the Kintyre Way route starting at Tarbert and finishing in the toon.  Challenging routes a plenty on offer!

It was a hoorah hot day, with a belting head wind on the Tayinloan to Carradale section.  This added to the already challenging conditions!  However, the great post race area made all the effort worth it with some great food, drink, music and stall on offer.

Well done to the Ultra runners who bravely finished the 36 mile event.  Ralphy Hill was first CRC finisher in 21st place in an amazing time of 06:29:19.  Elaine McGeachy was first CRC female in 37th place in 07:01:55.  Lauren Milstead finished 45th in 07:27:24 and Trudy Kennedy 63rd in 08:54:07.

Take a bow guys...incredible!

In the Relay CRC took the full podium with their teams!  First team were Team '1987' comprised of Drew Dutton, Tommy Morran and Jennifer Martin ran in section order respectively.  It was a strong run from the team and they finished in 04:24:26.  Seconds team were teams 'SAG' which compromised of Alisdair O'May, Iain McGougan and Stuart McGeachy, and they finished close behind in 04:29:31.  Third place went to 'Team X' which were comprised of Stephen Blackstock, Stuart Graham and Rachel Nelson, and finished in 05:21:52.

CRC also had some members competing in the Cycle event.  No Surprises Dom Sharkey was fisrt CRC member in finishing in an impressive in 12th postion in 06:33:03.  The main man Robert Semple, who has put in a tremendous amount of work to get this event organised and also fit in a marathon run 2 weeks ago, finished in 71st place 10:41:04.

Well done to everyone who took part in this tough event, whatever your discipline was.
