Campbeltown Running Club is a new friendly club in Kintyre for people who enjoy running and interested in being part of a group regardless of running ability. It was formed in 2010 and the aim of the club is to help improve members' running, giving advice and support to fellow runners as well as providing a friendly social aspect to the sport. We are affiliated to Scottish Athletics which gives benefits to members including gaining club entries to major races including the London marathon.

Training

Club training nights are informal and friendly. We run at 6.30pm at the Aqualibrium, Campbeltown on Tuesdays and Thursdays with some long slow runs planned for the weekends (normally Saturdays at 9am). We usually focus on speed, interval or hill work and cover approximately 6 – 8 miles on Tuesdays and Thursdays but you can do more or less if you wish. It is up to you. All are welcome. You don't need to come to all the training nights to be part of the club but if you would like company to run and the motivation of running as a team come along and try it out.

Joining

To officially join the club you can complete the membership application form that you can download from here and send to the secretary or give to any committee member.
You don’t need to officially join to come along to training but we would encourage everyone who trains regularly to join the club as it gives more benefits including a club vest, participating in races for the club, being affiliated for the club for Scottish Athletics, insurance cover and being part of the draw for ballot races including the London marathon. Fees are £25 per year (to be reviewed at AGM) and this will cover the aforementioned benefits including the running vest.
