The CRC 5K Race Series takes place at 18:40 around the middle of each month, and runs from May through to September.
The cut off time for the 5K handicap is 40 mins.
Each race starts at 18:40, and if handicaps are set accurately then all runners should finish by approx. 19:20...big if!!!
The aim of the series is to provide competitors a chance to challenge themselves over multi terrain routes, and finish with a fast, flat route on the final race.
Race 1 - Southend Tue 13th June. Terrain beach and tarmac. Route details can be found here
Race 2 - Tangy Tue 11th July. Terrain tarmac, undulating. Route details can be found here
Race 3 - Machrihanish Tue 15th August. - Terrain tarmac\track\grass and hilly. Route details TBC
Race 4 - Campbeltown Tue 19th September. Terrain tarmac, flat and fast. Route details TBC.
Each runner will be provided an handicap time based on the 'Honest' handicap run in May.
Any runner that missed the 'Honest' handicap race will be given a scratch time for their first race. No points will be awarded the runner completes a second race after establishing a baseline handicap.
Handicap times will not be adjusted by more than 30 sec from your base time. i.e. your handicap will not increase more than your original handicap time across the series.
Only 3 of the 4 races will count towards the final points total.
Points awarded for each race will start from 30 pts for 1st place, 29 pts for 2nd place and so on. If there are more than 30 runners in any given race, only the first 30 runners will receive points.
The results of each race will be published on the website and Facebook on the evening race.
