24 Hour Relay

Campbeltown Running Club hosted its first 24 hour marathon relay fundraiser on Friday 24^thJune 2011. The race started at 6pm on Friday evening and finished at 6 pm on Saturday 25^th June. Runners ran in blocks of one hour each (starting and finishing at the Aqualibrium) and the total distance run in the 24 hour period will be recorded.

Participants were asked to guess the total distance that will be run. Guesses were charged at £1 a go. The person guessing the correct distance covered will win £100. If no-one guesses the correct distance, the person with the nearest guess will win the prize. The Prize money was kindly sponsored by Bangladeshi Tandoori.

Funds raised were split between Campbeltown Running Club and MacMillan Cancer Support.

The total distance covered was an impressive 184.88 miles. The final total raised by the event was an impressive £1795.
