Harris Half Marathon held on 2nd July was my 3rd half as part of the HEB 3 series. From the school we were piped to the bus then driven to the start of the run, so it was possible to feel the hills even though the wrong way round. We started at Luskintyre beach the most beautiful beach in the world.

The first 3 miles were flattish, people were very friendly enjoying the scenery, very sociable infact. The route then turned away from the coast, we were running on quite a busy main road, with lots of steep up hills and also great down hills. Plenty of most welcome water stops. The final mile into Tarbert was all the way down hill, brilliant. After run sandwiches and soup, prize giving held in the school. Could also have a swim there too. Unique medals here with a Harris tweed ribbon, surprise for me getting 1st in age category, felt really pleased still tried not to overdo the smiley bit too much at the polite applause. Ferry then back from Tarbert to Uig, Skye. Anyone wanting to take a car over should book ferry very eary and I would also stay closer to the beach next time. 1st man was 1.17: 1st woman 1.26 : Me 2.10. Also got a special tshirt for doing 3 halfs in the series. One on my list for me next year.
