MOKRUN 2019

I’m not going to lie, when I woke up on Sunday morning hearing the gales and the rain batter of the windows, I wanted to go back to bed! But how could I – it was MOKRUN! Always a special day in the race calendar and the best of the local races (OK I’m biased!) I was extremely pleased I wasn’t running the half marathon as that wind was going to be brutal!! However, by 10am it had settled somewhat and that MOKRUN buzz was definitely in the air.

The warm up, the music, the pipe band – MOKRUN really put on a show and it was fantastic! I had a completely pain free enjoyable run and loved cheering on everyone as they passed me!!! I even managed a wee sprint finish with fellow club runners Trudy and Sarah but there was no need to rush – the Danish pastries were plentiful and as tasty as ever. Tremendous goody bag to boot, thanks MOKRUN organisers once again. I was left motivated and ready to race again – I’ll be going for that PB next year!

Congratulations to all of CRC and everyone who took part – brilliant to see so many in club colours and despite the weather gaining superb times – even some PBs and lots of podium finishes, well done!
