This was the 19th halfheld here on the 5th March and the second time I had run it. It started in the hilltop town of Alora, Andulecela on a cloudy morning so was a comfortable 57 temp for running. Great beginning here all the way downhill out of town then along a valley passed fields of orange and lemon trees to the town of Pizzaria. This had been a fairly flat stretch but seeing it was my first half for a while it felt quite a

struggle at this point and I still had to go all the way back.

There was a few loops in the town with of lots of support from locals sitting outside the bars and cafes. The way back had steep hills but I managed to keep going and started talking to a man, agreeing with him how glad we were the sun wasn't shining. So now we're back for the long steep hill into the town again which very soon reduced me to a fast walk slow run, fighting it out with another woman of the same age category. She beat me to it but I still got 2nd place, lots of interesting prizes in the goodie bag one was a tub of meat shavings in fat, very unhealthy but delicous. My time was 2.12. Held on the 2nd Sunday in March if anyone is interested in going my friend would be able to find/advise accommodation.
