Balloch to Clydebank Half Marathon Results

Post date: Mar 11, 2014 9:16:19 PM

The Balloch to Clydebank Half marathon returned to it's original March slot this year which fits in nicely with some of CRC members London marathon training. Charlie Dott and Elaine McGeachy, who are both competing in London, identified this race as a the Half marathon race prior to finishing the remaining big mileage weeks they will have soon.

There was a big turnout this year with over 430 competitors entered, which is almost 100 more than the previous year when it was arranged a week prior to London Marathon. Hopefully the organisers will keep this date for next year as it's an ideal Half Marathon, not only as a PB contender course but also geographically for us Toonies!

There was a strong Campbeltown connection with Robert Semple, Charlie Dott, Stephen Blackstock, James McEachran, Elaine McGeachy and Stuart McGeachy competing. There was a 20 min delay at the start as we were all made to wait as there was an issue with the timing chips, which wasn't ideal as it was baltic at that time in the morning! Thankfully it didn't seem to affect any times.

Below are a list of the times:

Stuart McGeachy - 24th 01:18:38

Stephen Blackstock - 208th 01:40:32

James McEachran - 210th 01:40:42

Elaine McGeachy - 223rd 01:41:40

Robert Semple - 333rd 01:51:36

Good times for everyone especially with the delayed start and windy conditions for the first half of the race. Elaine has put her new P.B time above down to Beetroot juice shots....70ml shot of veggie rankness! I still prefer mine pickled in a jar!

Anyway...the full race results can be found here.
