Oot 'n' aboot 'n' Bute

A wee trip was in order last Saturday for four hardy runners making the two ferry journey across to the party island. Stuart McGeachy was returning after running the race previous year with Elgy boy. Kerry O'May, Jennifer Martin and Drew Dutton decided to sign up on the back of his recommendation with the aim of getting a good time on a fast course. Elaine McGeachy also made it over as the support crew and managed to throw in a 400 mile cycle for the craic!

Conditions were mixed...the rain eased off near the race however there was a strong head wind for the first three miles which made the race a bit more difficult than previous year. There was a strong line up in the 188 competitors with some experienced runners vying for the cash prizes.

Stuart McGeachy finished in 5th place, just outside the prizes (devastated!), in 34:48. Drew Dutton finished in 21st place in impressive time of 39:45.

Jennifer Martin had another superb run finishing as second female (29th overall) in 41:09 and managed to win some spidosh. Kerry O'May also finished strong as 8th female (60th overall) in 46:52.

Unfortunately everybody fell short of PB's, however given the conditions we were satisfied with the performances.
