CRC Prize Giving 2016

The 2016 CRC Prize giving took place on Saturday 29th October at the the Stronvaar Bowling Club with an excellent turnout attending the event.

It's been a great year for a number of junior and senior CRC members, so well done to all prize winners. See below for all prize winners:

Senior Results

Best Performance of the year - Jennifer Martin for being the 1st female member to get a sub 40 10k at Great Scottish Run

Most Improved Runner - Stewart Ireland for achieving PB's in all distances, including 1:34 in half marathon at Great Scottish run

Special Sporting Achievement - Elaine McGeachy for incredible achievement of finishing 9th at Ironman distance at Arranman.

SKSC 5K Race Series Results

Race 1 – Campbeltown

The first race was on 3^rd May, prior to the MOK and there was a brilliant turnout with 51 runners competing.

Winner of race 1 was Neil John MacPhail

Race 2 – Ballochgair

The second race was on 7^th June with 37 runners competing. It was another midgie fest, but this route is fast becoming a favourite with it's fast finish and soft surface.

The winner of race 2 was Euan Charlwood

Race 3 – Lussa

The third race was 5^th July up Lussa...yet again the midgies were oot on force! Flat route but tough underfoot conditions which make this a challenging race. Given it's start of summer holidays we had 33 runners.

Winner of race 3 was Katy McDonald

Race 4 – Pennygown

A new route for race four on 2^nd August was Pennygown, starting at the top of four large hill just over a mile into the route. Foggy and a bit of drizzle added to this challenging, hilly route.

Winner of race 4 was Violet Campbell

Race 5 – Campbeltown

Back to the toon for race 5. Ideal conditions, similar to the race in May. Midgies oot again. 34 runners attended the final race.
