MOK Tri 2014 Results

The first MOK Tri 2014 took place on Sunday 20th July with nearly 50 participants competing in the individual event. This is the first triathlon organised by Campbeltown Running Club which is now affiliated to Triathlon Scotland. The race distances were:

Pool Based Swim 750m - Aqualibrium Campbeltown

Bike 21Km - An undulating out and back route from Aqualibrium to Ballochgair via the B842, giving stunning views over the Firth of Clyde.

Run 5Km - A flat out and back run from Aqualibrium along Kilkerran Rd beside the shores of Campbeltown Loch

Congratulations to Alan Bremner and Sandra Colamartino who won the Male and Female events respectively. Well done also to Angus Peden (2nd male), Sarah Griffin (2nd female), David Cormie (3rd Male) and Rebecca Helliwell (3rd Female) for their podium finishes.

There was also ten teams competing in the team event which was won by 'The Deer Whistlers' which included Sharon Gillies McCallum (Swim), Iain Graham (Bike) and Stuart McGeachy (Run).

A special mention to the organisers David Sinclair, Eilidh Cook and Alix Geyer for all their efforts in setting up such a great event. The committee would also like to thank to all the marshals and helpers for all their hard work during the race day. Click here for full race results.
