Strathavan Half Marathon Report

The Strathavan Half marathon took place on Sunday 21st February with five CRC members competing in the event. The weather reports weren't promising earlier in the week with strong winds and heavy rains forecast, however that never really materialised and any wind felt on the route only affected small sections of the course.

There were 336 participants running this race organised by the the Strathavan Striders running club, and the route is an undulating loop with a few steep climb. It was definitely a challenging race for Eilidh Cook and Alix Geyer to pick for their first half! Nothing to worry about though as both runners cruised the course and pulled of great times and positions.

Eilidh finished in 287th place with a time of 2:04:51, and Alix was close behind in 309th place with a time of 2:10:36.

Kerry O'May is going from strength to strength in 135th place with a PB time of 1:44:37. A great performance on the back of some tough marathon training.

Elaine McGeachy finished in 151st place with a time of 1:47:04, which was a good run given she has been running with a hip and ankle injury.

Stuart McGeachy finished in 7th place with a time of 1:19:18.
