The second annual Tarbert TT 5k and 10k races took place on Saturday 16 August with a number of CRC members making the short trip up the the A83 to compete. The 5k race is a flat route along Tarbert harbour which is a ideal for achieving a PB, something which can't be said for the 10k! The 10k route is mainly on the road, but there are a couple of tough hills added off the road onto trail which make this course very challenging.
Once again the weather conditions were tough with a strong wind and heavy rain at the latter stages of the 10K run. Thankfully the weather didn't dampen the runners spirits with a number of excellent performances and podium finishes by CRC members.
Congratulations to Kenny Campbell who finished first in the 10K with an outstanding time of 36:21. Other podium positions included Stuart McGeachy finishing second overall in 38:03, Fiona Graham was third senior female in 45:05 and Jennifer Reid was second female vet in 46:10.
There were also success in the 5K event with Cameron Campbell finishing second overall in 19:49, Susan Turner was second overall female and the first female vet in 23:22 and Jackie Fulton was third female vet in 26:09.
